Recruitment consultancy trade body the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has launched APSCo Outsource, a trade association for outsourcing providers.
The new trade body will be headed by managing director Melanie Forbes. Forbes has over two decades of experience in the outsource market, having acted as MD of Rullion, MD of Managed Solutions for Alexander Mann Solutions and CEO at Guidant Global.
Forbes commented: “The outsourcing market has evolved exponentially over the last decade to become a highly sophisticated sector in its own right, a sector that is distinct from staffing but, until now, had no distinct trade body representation. I’m incredibly proud to be leading this new trade body and I am looking forward to the journey.”
According to a statement issued by APSCo Global, APSCo Outsource will “act as the collective voice of the outsourcing market to lobby government on the impact of legislation and policy on the sector; create a peer-to-peer network to debate, discuss and share knowledge, produce research specific to the outsourcing market and provide a trusted badge of quality which will be recognised by end-user clients as best in class.”
The new association already has over 20 founders, these include: Advantage xPO, Allegis Global Solutions, Avencia, Alexander Mann Solutions, Capita, Giant Group, Guidant Global, Harvey Nash, Intelligent Resource, Kelly OCG, LA International, Lorien Resourcing, ManpowerGroup, Morgan Hunt UK, NES Advantage, NHS Professionals, Page Outsourcing, Pro Unlimited, Project People. Randstad Sourceright, Resource Solutions, Rullion, Sanderson Solutions and Volt Europe.
Commenting on the launch of APSCo Outsource, Sam Smith, MD and Vice-President of Kelly OCG EMEA, described it as “a welcomed and essential voice for service providers.”
Page Outsourcing Director Olly Harris added: “Given the rapid evolution of the outsourced recruitment industry, it seems only right that we have a centralised and neutral body with a laser-like focus on improving the quality and overall standards across the whole marketplace.”
APSCo Outsource’s new microsite, www.apsco.org/outsource, will launch on January 27th.
